This course is designed for system or network administrators, developers, and engineers who are responsible for configuring, maintaining, or supporting a Tivoli Business Service Manager 4.2 system.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Visualize your business processes by gathering information from many sources
- Describe bidirectional data flow between the OMNIbus ObjectServer and the TBSM server
- Use the Discovery Library Toolkit to create business service models
- Configure data fetchers to retrieve service data from external databases
- Configure the Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC) probe to receive events from TBSM event sources, including Tivoli Enterprise Console and IBM Tivoli Monitoring
- Model business services
- Build service models using auto-population, data fetchers, and External Service Dependency Adapters (ESDAs)
- Evaluate business processes to develop service models
- Use and configure service views
- Define and monitor service level agreements (SLAs)
- Use advanced features of service models to expand model coverage
- Configure maintenance windows for managed service level agreements
- Administer Tivoli Business Service Manager
- Develop custom views for users
- Administer users and groups within IBM Tivoli Business Service Manager 4.2 and the IBM Tivoli Netcool Security Manager 3.1 framework
- Use and program the RAD Shell Application Programming Interface (API)
- Support the Tivoli Business Service Manager 4.2 environment as an administrator, including troubleshooting with log files
- Describe the steps necessary to configure a TBSM 4.2 failover server
